⚡ "I Was Hanging From a Power Line by My Leg" — Teen Survivor Recalls Horrific Crash That Changed Her Life Forever
Kennedy Littledike was just 16 years old when her life changed in the most unimaginable way.
Driving back from a mountain trip in Idaho with two friends in 2021, the teen lost control of her car. Distraught after a recent breakup, she began crying behind the wheel — what followed was a devastating accident that no one could have predicted.
The car flipped violently, ejecting all three passengers. Kennedy was thrown 30 feet into the air and ended up hanging — upside down — by her shattered leg on a power line.
“I remember it was really dark, I was high in the air and uncomfortable — not in pain, just completely confused,” she told Athletes Doing Good podcast.
💔 A Moment of Realization — And a Fight to Survive
Her first memory wasn’t of the crash itself — it was of waking up high above the ground, suspended by one leg, bleeding and alone.
Her femur had snapped over the cable. Her arm was torn — left hanging by skin, paralyzed. She could see it in front of her face.
Still, in that terrifying moment, Kennedy decided something: she would not cry.
“I thought crying was weakness, and that meant I’d give up. And I wasn’t ready to die,” she said.
She began to scream for help.
🧠 Blackouts, Confusion… and Then the Crowd
Kennedy remembers blacking out and coming to again — only to find a crowd gathered below.
“There were so many people… I didn’t know why no one was helping me. I saw them holding something white below — I later learned it was in case I fell.”
That feeling of being watched but not rescued stayed with her. After nearly an hour, rescuers managed to get her down and rush her to the hospital. She was placed in a coma. Her leg was amputated. Doctors told her family she may not survive.
Now, years later, Kennedy shares her story not just as a survivor — but as a voice of resilience.
Her courage in the face of unimaginable trauma continues to inspire.
And like Cristiano Ronaldo launching his own movie studio, she’s rewriting what a comeback can look like — on her own terms.
